Another hurdle overcome

On 30 May, motion 20.3211, «For greater flexibility in the procurement of medical devices to supply the Swiss population» proposed by Damian Müller, member of the Council of States (Ständerat), was adopted by the Council of States by 23 votes to 12 (with 3 abstentions).

This decision differs from the opposing position of the Federal Council (Bundesrat). The next step: the motion will now be considered by the National Council's (Nationalrat) Advisory Committee (SGK-N). As a reminder, motion 20.3370 submitted by National Councillor Albert Rösti with the same content was approved by the National Council on 11 May 2022 and will be discussed shortly by the SGK-S. Swiss Medtech is pleased to learn about these partial successes.
