The Future of Medicine is digital

Digital Health will be the major driver of healthcare in the future – and this includes the medical technology industry. Healthcare is transitioning at the moment, with digital products requiring a rethink of innovation processes and business models. One major issue is the increasing patient centricity of the entire value-added chain.  

Convinced of its pivotal role, we chose to focus on this topic and have made it the central theme of Swiss Medtech Day this year. The event is designed to highlight and understand the key role of medical technology in the digitalisation of healthcare.

Scewo AG has reason to celebrate. They are the winner of the Swiss Medtech Award 2021 worth 50,000 Swiss francs. Scewo AG is the inventor and manufacturer of a stair-climbing power wheelchair that is redefining freedom for people with limited mobility, and also has the potential to conquer world markets.

2021 is the first year a guest country will present itself at Swiss Medtech Day. Finland is a pioneer in the digitalisation of healthcare and is therefore an excellent showcase for our event theme «Digital Health Technology».

You will have the opportunity to get to know the guest country through a keynote speech and a subsequent Deep Dive Session.

Swiss Medtech Award 2021: The finalists are confirmed

GalvoSurge Dental AG is advancing to the final with a sophisticated and highly efficient system for cleaning inserted dental implants. icotec ag is competing with non-metallic, radiolucent implants for the treatment of spinal tumours. And Scewo AG made it into the top three thanks to their revolutionary stair-climbing electric wheelchair.

Joel-Luc has written studies on the digital future of healthcare; for example on digitalisation in psychiatry or on how billion-dollar startups are influencing the future of medicine. He has fulfilled mandates for swissmedic, Health Promotion Switzerland, Children’s Hospital Zurich and the psychiatric hospitals of Bern and Baselland, among others.
