PASSIVATION – from laser marking to corrosion resistance testing

Many industries today, especially in field of medical technology, are faced with the daunting challenge of sustainably protecting their product surfaces from corrosion after the marking process. This problem has come into focus due to the introduction of MDR requirements. At this INSIGHT symposium, you will experience the entire process from laser marking, cleaning and passivation to corrosion resistance testing for the first time.

Ensuring the corrosion resistance of product markings, for example with a traceable UDI code (unique device identification code) on surgical instruments, is a prerequisite for permanent legibility and a guarantee of unambiguous traceability. Complex shapes and sophisticated materials pose a particular challenge in this regard.

The solution lies in the interaction of a suitable marking solution, e.g. a marking laser, and the selection of the right cleaning system with a subsequent passivation process. Such a system-optimised process, which we will present to you in a showcase, enables a wide array of options for sustainable corrosion-resistant marking.

Benefit from the findings in our showcase, which are promise success due to specifically defined procedures and processes in the field of medical technology. We can say this much in advance: After standardised deconex® cleaning and passivation processes, these medical technology parts are still clearly legible – this is also shown by our specific laboratory tests.

In addition, you can gain valuable knowledge from keynote speeches with scientifically sound studies and use the opportunity to talk to our experts. We look forward to exchanging ideas with you!
